Houlihan Lawrence has been the local market leader in northern NY and CT for over 130 years. A nice problem to have, right? Well, the problem was preaching rather than proving. With heavy competition on the heels from Sotheby’s and more recently Compass, Houlihan Lawrence needed to stop resting on their laurels and start showing their true expertise and personality.
To clearly establish and own a leadership position, we needed to evolve Houlihan Lawrence by moving them from a traditional, local brand to a more modern brand with global awareness and local flare. We did this by creating a brand strategy that positioned Houlihan Lawrence as a company with a graceful and confident posture. The evolved brand also needed to show how technologically advanced it was in order to compete with the tech-savvy competition.
-Anne Marie Gianutsos, Chief Marketing Officer
“The rebrand honored the rich legacy of the company but repositioned us for success. In the years following the rebrand the company enjoyed enormous success and all of CO OP’s efforts were widely regarded as a huge positive for the company.”
-Anne Marie Gianutsos, Chief Marketing Officer
We brought new life to the Houlihan Lawrence identity by revitalizing its most recognizable symbol, the white horse. We released the horse from the weathervane and redesigned it to give it a more modern and sophisticated look. From there, we created a dynamic digital platform and website, as well as an ad campaign featuring white horses. Houlihan Lawrence was now ready to lead the brand above and beyond the competition.
